DanceLab

DanceLab, a professional development programme for dancers and performers, has been running in partnership with the MAC (previously Old Museum Arts Centre) since 2004. DanceLab provides professional dancers with the opportunity to work with a selection of internationally renowned practitioners. Facilitators have included Vincent Dance Theatre, Wendy Houstoun, Gill Clarke, Scott Clarke, Filip Van Huffel and Luca Silvestrini. Events take place in Belfast and run for 2, 3 or 5 days.

DanceLab Relaunches!

DanceLab re-launched on 2 Sept with a 3-day course in GAGA technique with Chisato Ohno. GAGA is the movement method of Ohad Naharin of Batseva Dance company in Israel. The course was well attended and particpants gained excellent insight into this unique performance style. See a video of the class here >

Wendy Houstoun two-day physically-based performers lab

28-29 Oct 2010 (10am-4pm)

Wendy Houstoun will return to Belfast to host a two-day intensive at the end of October. An artist committed to experimental movement and text, Wendy's work challenges preconceptions about movement and communicates clearly and humorously about contemporary culture. In the spirit of investigation, the workshop will explore the collision between movement and text. This physical theatre workshop will be of interest to any physically-based performers.
